+band bio+

"I started the band in 1993 with my then-girlfriend. It was meant to be nothing more than a cute project...something where we would play children's birthday parties. We had monikers; I was Space Helmet and she was Moon Boot and we wrote crazy wacky songs about Snufulufugus and Bo Peep counting sheep. We made our own antennas out of headbands and wire and Styrofoam balls with glitter, and I would wear a blue Star Trek looking shirt at the gigs." -Brian Bell

So how can a "cute project" turn into this awesome band, the Spacetwins? Good Question, maybe I should ask 'Space Helmet' one day...well anyway, here are the facts:

Spacetwins was formed in 1993 by Brian and his then-girlfriend, Susan Fox. In the spring of 1995 they finished mixing a demo consisting of "No Show", "A Brief History", and "Take My Place". All eventually formed the "No Show" 7" single, which was released on World Domination Records, their only on that label so far. This single was also the only to feature Bell(vocals/guitar), Fox(bass), and Mike Elliott(drums), and is now out of print.

Their next two releases were on Duckbutter records in 1998 and featured artwork from Tim Biskup along with a new band line-up. Tim Maloof replaced Susan Fox, and Glenn Maloof was added as second guitarist. The singles, "Osaka Aqua Bus" (which included "Goddess of Love") and "Tv, Music and Candy" (included "Headache") were also on 7" vinyl, and out of print.

And right now, hopefully, those spacey little Spacetwins are working on an album filled with atmospheric melodies, outter-limits experimentations, and vocals oozing with emotion. Hey, maybe we'll hear that "sound of monkeys jumping out of the trees and hitting the ground" coming from that amazing drummer, Mike Elliott.
