+tim maloof+

originally from LA, moved to Knoxville, Tennessee at a young age, then later moved back to LA with his brother glenn - five years after brian. plays bass, violin and accordian in the space twins. tim is also plays the violin in a los angeles band called mary love. [however, i don't know whether he is still in that band]

with parents "so into rock and roll", it's not a surprise that tim ended up actually in rock and roll. "sesame street fever" as well as buddy holly, elvis and bo diddly were influences in his childhood, with the latter few being findings in his parents album collection.

back in knoxville, tim and glenn were in a band call the blue shrooms. "they were the shit in tennessee. it was like, "you gotta go to the blue shrooms!" it was an experience. it was very psychedelic. they put on great shows. i got to go to their shows and we lived in the same neighborhood. we started playing instruments around the same time," brian explains. the blue shrooms played at hay dances, square dances, and county fairs, basically the typical tennessee venues.

here's some random information about tim:

local california bands that he likes include W.A.C.O, home audience, touchcandy.

here are some informative excerpts taken from interviews:

interviewer: if either of you were a TV programming executive...what kind of show would you pitch?
tim: I think I would promote Art Education.
interviewer: Awwww.
tim: I'm sorry, I'm boring.
interviewer: No, it was a GOOD "Awwww!" We NEED more education.
brian: We do!

interviewer: what's a typical afternoon for you guys?
tim: practicing music...just refining my musical skills mostly.

interviewer: favorite guitar chord?
tim: I was thinking B-7 or something like that.
